The deadlines during which the CLP regulation will be implemented are:
Until 1st Dec. 2010, substance had been classified, labeled and packaged in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD). After the deadline the substances have to be classified and labeled as per the regulation of CLP.
Until 1st June 2015, mixtures shall be classified, labeled and packaged in accordance with Directive 1999/45/EC (DPD). After this deadline the new CLP regulation will take over completely and the other regulation, i.e., DSD/DPD will not be applicable.
From 1st December 2010 until 1st June 2015, the safety data sheets for substances shall contain the classification according to both Directive 67/548/EEC and Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. Substances and mixtures which already exist in the market have an obligation to notify the classification and labeling of the substances within the deadline.
Substances placed in the market after this deadline will have to be notified within 1 month from the date on which the substances were placed in the market.
