Auto Components

The automotive industry is a very important industry within the European economy. The EU is the world’s largest automotive production region with over 30% of global output, and is the second most important consumer market after the USA. The share of EU imports from Top 5 developing countries grew from 66% in 2003 to 70% in 2008. This was especially the result of the strong growth of imports from China (28%) and India (27%).

The chemicals used in theautomotive industry are highly hazardous in nature and should be used carefully. From the purview of automotive exports to EU from developing countries, most important product groups are new tyres, other engine parts, wiring sets, other parts and accessories, road wheels, audio, brake linings, engines, other body parts, other parts for construction and mining equipment

After-market product groups [parts from the original supplier, also called OES (Original Equipment Supplier) and non-original parts] include Gaskets, Shock absorbers, Wipers, Air filters, Exhausts, Oil filters, V-belts, Batteries, Sparking plugs. In most European countries, non-branded replacement parts coming from developing countries are often used on older cars, because of their price advantage.
